Rabid (1977)
RABID (aka RAGE) by David Cronenberg presents a very interesting take on medicine and contagion, using several techniques to intensify realism amongst all of the fantastic elements. My only complaint would be that you never really care about Marilyn Chambers' character, and her "dilemma" doesn't inspire much empathy. Very classic Cronenberg, similar to SHIVERS and THE BROOD.
